Now that the Dollar has fallen so much lower, I should guess that a larger proportion of the officers might be willing to accept the offer, be disposed to let the offer made to them again, definitely accepted or rejected by individual officer by a fixed date, intimating at same time that I state regrets that he can hold out no hope of being able to sanction more favorable terms in the present financial state of the Colony; and telling
